Monday, May 6
7:00-8:30pm (doors open at 6:30pm)
Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe Theater
1012 N. Orange Ave., Sarasota

Come see our local high school students present their interpretations of area African American elders and Holocaust survivors’ personal stories through music, art, poetry, dance, and theater.

The students will recap their elders’ stories at the event, and express what they’ve learned from those stories, including what course of action they plan to take as a result. Inspired by the relationship between Martin Luther King Jr. and Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, Impact Theatre connects survivors of the Holocaust and segregated South with tomorrow’s champions for peace and social justice.

The event will feature musical performances by nationally acclaimed singer songwriter Peri Smilow and members of the Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe ensemble. Refreshments and conversation will follow the performance.
