International Holocaust Remembrance Day

Venue: The Ora at the Morganroth Event Center | 578 McIntosh Rd, Sarasota

Join us on International Holocaust Remembrance Day as we gather to remember the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, honor those who survived, and ensure that their stories and the lessons of their experiences continue to be remembered and understood by generations to come.

Our guest speaker is Elisha Wiesel, son of Elie Wiesel, renowned writer, professor, political activist, and Holocaust survivor. Elie is best known for his memoir, Night, a powerfully moving account of the Holocaust. He is one of the most central modern figures in understanding Holocaust remembrance, Jewish identity, and the moral obligation to confront antisemitism and indifference.

Elisha will share personal memories of his father, his father’s legacy, and the importance of expanding Holocaust education in a world facing rising antisemitism and hate.

We will also officially open The Path (The Chaifetz Holocaust Learning Experience) and mark this important moment together.

As part of the registration for this event, your donation will support the Federation’s Holocaust education work in our students’ classrooms and the broader community. From teachers to expanding their knowledge about Holocaust Education to bringing our local students to learn, walk, and reflect at The Path, your investment will ensure that we are building a community that can stand up against all forms of hate amidst rising antisemitism and build a more civil society. We appreciate you standing with us.
