Award-winning author, prosecutor, and speaker Adena J. Bernstein invites you to explore one of the most consequential unresolved questions of Holocaust justice: Who owns stolen history?

In her book, Stolen Legacies: The Fight for Nazi-Looted Art, award-winning author and prosecutor Adena J. Bernstein examines the decades-long fight to recover art and cultural property stolen from Jewish families during the Holocaust. Traveling through sixteen countries, Bernstein reveals how forced sales became legal transactions, Survivors were asked to prove the impossible, and delays replaced justice. Adena draws on investigative history, legal analysis, and her own family connection as the granddaughter of Holocaust Survivors. She brings the human stories behind these stolen legacies to light.

Hear Adena J. Bernstein share the stories behind Stolen Legacies and the ongoing fight for justice.
