Hereditary Cancers and Cancer Screening
This presentation provides an overview of hereditary cancer risk, genetic counseling and genetic testing at Moffitt Cancer Center. It explains how inherited genetic mutations can increase cancer risk, identifies who may benefit from genetic screening, and reviews prevention and risk-reduction strategies. The presentation highlights Project COURAGE, a donor-supported community outreach initiative that promotes ovarian cancer awareness, hereditary cancer risk-assessment, access to genetic services and connections to preventive care for eligible community members.
