In the midst of a war in Ukraine, an Israeli field hospital is established to provide medical care to those affected by the conflict. The film follows the challenges faced by the medical teams, many of whom are descendants of Holocaust survivors, as they treat Ukrainian patients who have lost everything. Amidst the chaos and destruction, the film highlights the humanity and compassion of those providing care, showcasing the power of small acts of kindness to bring people together. The film also explores the intersection of history and culture, as the Israeli teams offer help and hope to those in need, while navigating their own emotional struggles. A touching portrayal of humanity and the impact that small acts of kindness can have in the face of adversity. 

There will be a reception of light hors d’oeuvres and wine prior to Hope Without Boundaries. After the showing, indulge in a Q and A with a special appearance from Dr. Ben Sachs.

Using rare archives, scholars of Holocaust research, and remaining survivors she tells the heroic tale of Jews who fought back in more than 60 armed rebellions—including six in death camps–and of thousands of Jewish partisans in forests of Europe.

“The Catskills” is a documentary about the rise and fall of the Borscht Belt, a refuge for Jewish immigrants fleeing poverty as well as a lavish playground for affluent Jewish families. Journey into the storied mountain getaway north of New York City. Resorts such as The Concord and Kutcher’s became a breeding ground for up-and-coming comedians as well as stars such as The Rat Pack and athletes like Muhammad Ali and Mickey Mantle. Reminisce with this unique view of vibrant American Jewish life and culture in the 20th century.  

Before the film, enjoy a nostalgic spread of classic Jewish delicacies and transport yourself back to the beating heart of the Borscht Belt when Jewish vacationers made the Catskills their summer destination. After the show, enjoy a Q and A session with producer Lex Gillespie.
