Heller JCRC Information
The Jewish Federation is grateful to Robert and Esther Heller for their vision and generosity in creating the Heller Israel Advocacy Initiative. The program was established to advocate for peace and security for Israel through education, information, and community action; to raise awareness of, and actively confront global antisemitism and radical Islam; while directly addressing local anti-Israel activities. Our Israel Advocacy Initiative developed into what is known today as our Jewish Community Relations Committee.
The Heller JCRC advocates for Israel and against antisemitism by:Â
- Educating faith communities about Israel, Judaism, and the BDS movement
- Holding events with Israeli dignitaries and experts on Israeli history
- Supporting Hillel and our Jewish college students
- Leading community and interfaith missions to Israel

Details
The purpose of these missions is to bring Sarasota and Manatee community members together for an unforgettable opportunity to travel to Israel while learning about each other, history and modern-day security concerns, education & diversity, and technology. Back home, after the trip, we will have some reunion gatherings to continue the friendships and find ways to work together to further establish an amazing Sarasota-Manatee community.

Our interfaith gatherings welcome and serve individuals of all backgrounds. These meetups further provide the opportunity to connect with all members of the community and help to develop long-lasting relationships between communities.
